An Open Letter to Skeptic_Sal: Are you here to invest or just to complain?
Asalaamu alaykum everyone. I've been on this platform for a few months, and I've noticed a pattern. In nearly every single thread, our brother @Skeptic_Sal shows up to cast doubt, poke holes, and generally spread negativity. He questions the platform's integrity, belittles other users' questions, and dismisses every investment opportunity with a cynical 'lol' or 'seems suss'. My question is: what is the intention here? Are you genuinely seeking knowledge, or are you just here to be a contrarian? A healthy community needs critical questions, but constant, unfounded skepticism drains the barakah from this space. If every project is 'too risky' and every explanation is 'a semantic game', then maybe this platform, with its focus on real-asset-backed, non-speculative investments, just isn't for you. And that's okay! But please, don't ruin the positive and educational atmosphere for the rest of us who are genuinely trying to invest in a halal way. Maybe it's time to either engage constructively or find a platform that better suits your 'stock market is better' worldview.

While I agree the tone can be a bit much sometimes, asking tough questions is important for due diligence. Maybe we can all be a bit more charitable in our assumptions.
So now asking questions is 'spreading negativity'? I'm sorry, I forgot this was a hugbox and not an investment platform. My bad. I'll just blindly throw my money at a 'Halal Gaming Studio' with '30% variable returns'. What could go wrong?

I have to say, I've found Sal's questions useful sometimes. He makes you double-check things. I'd rather have a skeptic in the room than a bunch of yes-men.
There's a difference between a skeptic and a cynic. A skeptic questions to find truth. A cynic questions to find fault. I believe our brother Sal is the latter.
From a Shar'i perspective, giving Naseehah (sincere advice) publicly should be a last resort. Perhaps a private message would have been better, brother Tariq. That being said, the underlying point about maintaining a constructive environment is valid. We should all strive for Husn al-Dhann (having a good opinion of others) first.

I'm with Dawud. I run a business. I want to see people stress-testing these ideas. If an investment can't stand up to Sal's questions, maybe it's not a good investment.
theres a diff between stress-testing and just saying 'lol this is dumb' with no real argument.
