Any ESG / Green Energy investments that are actually high-impact?
I'm looking for investments that are not just 'green-washed'. The 'Seattle Mosque Solar Energy Fund' looks interesting. Are there others? And how do we verify the actual environmental impact?

I love this focus! Being a good steward of the Earth (khalifah) is so important. The 'Toronto Green Roofs REIT' is another good one. It's not just about energy, but also biodiversity and water management in cities.
Adam, we work with third-party auditors to provide impact reports for our Green and Social Impact pools. For the Solar Fund, for example, the report includes metrics like CO2 emissions reduced and energy savings for the mosque. You can find these reports in the 'Documents' tab of the pool.
Third-party impact reports are exactly what I was hoping to hear. That adds a lot of credibility. I'll check those out.
Thanks @Admin_Bilal, I'll review those reports. Appreciate the transparency.
The 'Detroit Urban Garden Investment' also has a strong environmental and community impact angle. It reduces food miles and improves food security.
'Green' investments often have lower returns. Just saying.
That's a common misconception. Many sustainable technologies are now more profitable than their older, dirtier counterparts. Plus, there's the 'barakah' return, which doesn't show up on a balance sheet.
I'll take a higher financial return over 'barakah return' any day, thanks.
May Allah grant you both.
Furthermore, from a Maqasid al-Shari'ah (higher objectives) perspective, protecting the environment (hifz al-biah) is a crucial goal. Investments that achieve this have a religious value beyond their financial return.
check out the 'Halal Honeybee Network'. saving bees is pretty high impact if u ask me.
